Our Responsibility

Alexandria Clothing Company recognises the importance of all social and ethical compliance, seeing it as a matter of duty rather than obligation and it is our proactive approach that has ensured we operate both a compliant and sustainable business.

Everything that we do is centered around satisfying the requirements of our stakeholders; owners, customers, employees and the community and to ensure that these are met we deliver high quality products and services, offer a safe and fair work place and do everything possible to mitigate our impact on the environment.

We comply with all of the country’s applicable legislation and in many cases surpass their requirements, we are accredited or certified by many of the industries most recognised governing bodies, with regular factory audits taking place. To be approved by such internationally recognised bodies gives us enormous pride in our work but just as importantly it gives our customers old and new the confidence to work with us.

The textile industry is ever evolving and we will take it upon ourselves to ensure that we are continually improving all aspects of how we manage our business.

Social

The textile industry has rightly come under a lot of scrutiny over the past few years for the treatment of its workers, however at ACC we can say with confidence, that we provide a safe and fair working environment for all of our employees.

Both of our factories are maintained to a high health and safety standard, all workers are paid above the legal wage requirement and have a voice through their workers union. We actively encourage growth and development for all of our employees and operating such a large organisation there is plenty of opportunity for personal advancement. Many of our managers and senior managers have come from internal promotions, our in-house sewing training schools have offered opportunities and subsequently jobs to hundreds of people within the local community and we have even developed a decent football team over the years!

Above all else the below principles shape our workplace and ethos;

Our employees have been and will continue to be the most important part of our business and we will never allow the high standards we set towards their well being be compromised.

Environmental

From development to delivery our aim is to have as little impact on the environment as possible, by sourcing the right raw materials, having the most efficient machinery and cultivating a culture of responsibility amongst our employees, we will continue to ensure that our operation is an environmentally friendly as possible.

Below are a few examples of how we help reduce our impact;

We will continually strive to make a positive difference.
